VHHS- Where Are They Now? Dean Karch Great Job! It was great times and I would enjoy to hear from some old friends. I am living in Albuquerque New Mexico with my three sons and girlfriend Danielle.
I ended up in Albuquerque in 1995 after accepting a position with the county corrections department. It is a very strange job but fun in it's own way. Who would have guessed I would have ended up on this side of the bars.
Wow, how cool is that? I am glad to hear you ended up guarding the bars, not behind them. I don't remember what you looked like, but not many people can "pull off" that orange jump suit.
Dean~ I'm not sure if you remember me, but my intentions with my BS in Criminal Justice was to work for the Federal gov't. Many people suggested that I go into the corrections field. But I steered away from that since I visited many jails/detention centers for school and heard of the stabbings the officers received. And with my new little baby, well, it sorta deterred me from it.
Several Officers get assaulted and since I have been here, I have seen many stabbings upon inmates and staff. My intensions were to be a cop, but I moved up in rank at a fast speed and I would not be able to afford the pay cut. This job is not for everybody, but I am glad you found that out prior to taking on the job. As for me I have ten years left until I retire. It's great because then I can do anything that I want. I am considering going back to school to become a teacher and maybe coach high school football out here.

How did you end up in Albuquerque?
