VHHS- Where Are They Know?
Glenda Calvo

First and foremost, I'd like to thank Melissa for conjuring up this great idea...I often wonder about my fellow "Don" classmates..so Kudos to you dearest Melissa...

I'm still in Sunny California---but further South--in San Diego. I live with my husband, Raciel and our lovely daughter, Zielo, who arrived this past June.

I currently work at American Express as a travel consultant (I've been doing this for the past 16 years! Can you tell that I love to travel???)

In 2003, I finally finished my bachelor's degree from CSU Long Beach---yes can you believe how insane I am?? I drove twice a week from San Diego to the LBC!!! I would have liked to have finished my degree earlier but I was too busy traipsing the globe for my job!

Our favorite pastime, yep you guessed it, playing volleyball. I still do this at least 4 times a week. It was tough not playing whilst I was pregnant, so I was coaching volleyball instead...I still needed to touch the ball!

I will be interested in seeing how many other people LOG on!

To reiterate---good job, Melissa...Be sure to say "hi" to Chuck for me...I'm sure he'll remember his nutty next door neighbor!

Toodles!G.

Hi Glenda,

Congratulations on the new baby girl! I love her name. What does it mean?

Kudos on finishing your degree. I admire your determination. I don't think I could have handled all that driving!!

What a cool job you have. After all of your traveling, where is your favorite destination?

I am not sure how many visitors we will get. I only had 23 email addresses to work with and 8 of them bounced back. Please spread the word to all the "Dons" you know.

It is great to hear from you! Charles says hi back and he will try to blog you soon. Take care and I look forward to hearing from you again.

Hey Melissa~
So glad you wrote back.

Let me try & answer your questions:
1/ I wanted a name similar to my hubby's name: Raciel...So I kept writing his name down & adding letters...I came up with Cielo---which means Heaven in Spanish. But I wanted her name to be different so I change the 'c' to a 'Z'. Her last name starts with an "A" ---so in school she will either in the front of the line (if they go by last name) or the end of the line (if they go by 1st name!) LOL.
2. Yes! Traveling is awesome! I love it! I think the best place was Alaska, believe it or not. That means alot since I'm a SUN bird most of the time. But if you have an opportunity in your lifetime, you have to see those impressive glaciers. Words can't describe their magnitude!

Can't wait to hear from Chuck. It will be nice to catch up with him...

So--- how are things with you? Isn't Bellevue cold now?

I like the idea about uploading pics. That's such a great idea. If you send me your email address, I will be happy to send you a link so you can see some pics of her.

Take care!

Love,
G.
